Senior citizens enjoy cheaper travel fares on Lisbon's transport systems.
Fertagus, the private trains company that makes the connection between the two sides of the Tagus river, gives seniors aged over 65 years old a discount of more or less 50%, as does CP (the train company that operates to Sintra, Azambuja, Cascais, amongst others).
On the Metro of Lisbon, senior citizens only get a discount on the monthly pass and the same applies to Carris (trams and buses).
You will always have to show an ID card when purchasing tickets with a discount.
