Gil Scott-Heron
Poetry is his first gift, music his second, not in order of preference or mastery, because Gil Scott-Heron combines these two art forms in a truly melodic and inspiring way. He was an active voice during the 60’s and early 70’s for the civil rights movement and found in jazz, soul and funk the right medium to divulge his ideas and transmit what he felt.
