Self-Portraits of the World: Annemarie Schwarzenbach (1908-1942) (Auto-retratos do Mundo)
The mythical “travel writing” figure, Annemarie Schwarzenbach (1908 - 1942) created numerous photographic reports from the united states to Afganistan. This exhibition shows her depiction of Europe during its preparation for war: Poland (1937) and Austria (1938). One of her least known reports was done in Lisbon (1941-1942) and in África. This is an exhibition that transmits one view of what the world was like during some of the most significant years of mankinds history.
