The Film Museum (Cinemateca Portuguesa)

This museum dedicated to film is located in the very heart of Lisbon in a 19th century building right next to the Avenida da Liberdade. The building was added to in 2001 and the next year opened to the public with a range of new spaces: two new cinemas in the basement, temporary and permanent exhibition rooms, the 39 steps, new archives and storage space, restaurant and bookshop. In the permanent exhibition rooms you may find photographs, books and various pieces of cinema related equipment.

Opening hours: Everyday except Sundays and holidays from 2 to 8 p.m.
