From the House of the Dead - Leos Janácek

Leos Janácek, a Czech composer, adapted the From the House of the Dead novel by Dostoyevsky into a fantastic opera. This story is about the time Dostoyevsky spent in forced labour camp in Siberia, where people of all sorts of classes, backgrounds and education mingled. A compelling opera, worth seeing. Interpreted by the fabulous Gulbenkian Orchestra.
