Monks from the original and key national Buddhist Shaolin Temple in the Henan Province in China practice Kung-Fu and Tai Chi martial arts as part of their daily routine. Sidi Larbi studied the philosophy and faith behind this practice and its involvement in a contemporary context, developing a new choreography. Seventeen monks, from the Shaolin Temple joined to perform a brilliant show with music by the Polish composer Szymon Brzóska played by five musicians and sets by Anthony Gormley, who has won a Turner Prize.
